Forensic teams and officers of Delhi Police special cell have reached the spot and are trying to identify what caused the blast.
In New Delhi, a blast occurred at the CRPF school in Rohini this morning. Damage was done to the school’s wall, but no injuries have been reported. Forensic teams and special cell officers of Delhi Police have arrived at the scene and are working to determine the cause of the explosion.
A local resident captured a video showing a cloud of smoke coming from around the explosion area. The individual who saw it stated, “I was in my house.” I witnessed a strong noise, observed a puff of smoke, and filmed it. I am unaware of anything additional. A police team and an ambulance have arrived at the scene.
The explosion occurred close to the CRPF school in Prashant Vihar at 7.47 am. Amit Goel, a senior officer in the police force, mentioned they have brought in specialists to look into the cause of the explosion. In a subsequent update, authorities reported that nothing suspicious has been discovered yet, and the investigation includes the examination of the underground sewage line.
Resident locals reported that the blast shattered car windows near the school and caused damage to shop signboards in the vicinity.
At 07:47 hrs today, a PCR call reported a loud explosion near CRPF school Sector 14 Rohini. SHO/PV and their team arrived at the location and discovered the school wall had been damaged and emitted a bad odor. The spectacles of the shop next door and the car beside it were discovered to have been harmed. There were no injuries reported, according to the statement from the police. The crime team, forensic science laboratory (FSL) team, and bomb disposal squad are summoned to the scene. The area where the crime occurred has been sealed off. The fire department team has arrived at the scene. They are investigating the cause of the explosion, they said.
The National Security Guard has been notified and a team could be sent to the location. According to sources in law enforcement, the explosion may have been caused by a rudimentary explosive device. There is also a team from the National Investigation Agency present at the location. A substance resembling white powder was discovered at the location and is being sent for forensic analysis.
An FIR has been filed by Delhi Police under the Explosives Act and the case will be transferred to the special cell shortly. The matter is also being investigated by NIA, CRPF, and NSG. The vicinity has been blocked and is undergoing mapping. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage in the vicinity to determine the individual responsible for planting the explosive device. According to reports, law enforcement is not discounting the possibility of a conspiracy element.
