To date, more than 400 flights, operating on both domestic and international routes, have been targeted with fake bomb threats. The police have arrested two individuals, one of whom is a minor boy, but the threats have continued and it seems that neither of them is the main culprit. The Hoax bomb threats flights

Law enforcement agencies such as the NIA, Delhi Police, and Mumbai Police are actively pursuing the culprits responsible for the hoax bomb threats in the aviation industry for over a fortnight. Despite their most diligent attempts, the fake bomb threats persist, and authorities have not yet determined the motive or the individuals behind them.

Two arrested

Up to now, more than 400 flights, traveling on both national and international paths, have been targeted with fake bomb threats. The authorities have only detained two individuals, one of them being a minor boy, but the threats have not ceased, and it seems that neither of them is the orchestrator behind it.

Shubham Upadhyay

Shubham Upadhyay, a young man without a job from Uttam Nagar in Delhi, was among those who were apprehended for issuing bomb threats to flights departing from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. However, once he was caught, Upadhyay informed the authorities that he began sending the messages after watching similar news stories on television.

It is said that another individual linked to the cases is a man from Maharashtra, who has authored a book on terrorism. As per a report from Times of India, Jagdish Uikey, a resident of Gondia district in Maharashtra, is currently fleeing from authorities.

Meeting with the PM

The report states that Uikey asserts he decoded a hidden terrorist code that can predict bombings on trains and railway areas. It is reported that he has supposedly emailed multiple government offices, such as the Prime Minister’s Office, the Union Railway Minister, the Maharashtra Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister, airline companies, the Director General of Police, and the Railway Protection Force, and has also requested a meeting with the Prime Minister.

Airlines suffered heavy losses

In the meantime, airlines are still experiencing financial difficulties because of the false bomb threats that have caused disruptions in flight and airport activities. Over the last two weeks, airlines have incurred an approximate loss of Rs 1,200 to 1,400 crore as a result of false bomb threats.
